Entry
Level and Exit Outcomes
This unit plan is designed
for a co-ed grade 8 physical education class. The unit is split into
10/1 hour lessons, for about 28-30 students.
Entry
Level
-
With a co-ed class of about
28-30 students it would be expected that there would be a wide range of
gymnastics ability from no experience to regular gymnastics athletes.
-
Most of the girls would
be expected to have taken a few or more years of gymnastics compared to
the boys.
-
Students will have an understanding
of what gymnastics is
-
Some students may have the
assumption that gymnastics is only for girls and for people who are very
flexible
-
One student has ADHD and
another is legally blind; therefore, it would be expected that some activities
would have to be altered
Exit
Outcomes
-
Students will have an idea
of how gymnastics can be fun, even if you are not flexible or a girl
-
Students will understand
that gymnastics can be important in other sports and daily activities
